Marionette folds and lines are creases that extend vertically from the corners of your mouth to your chin. The marionette lines stem from the muscles used to pull the mouth in articulation of speech and smiling. Volume loss in the face can also effect the formation of the marionette lines.
The folds can have an ageing effect to you lower third of the face, they can also make the client appear sad or frowning when you are not doing so due to the illusion portrayed by the lines.
The use of dermal filler is a simple and effective way to treat these lines. A soft to medium filler is used for the marionette area depending on the depth required.
