• Remain upright for at least 4 hours post-treatment.

• Do not exercise, have hot showers, or enter a sauna for up to 48hours post treatment.

• Avoid applying pressure to the area treated for at least 48hours to prevent the product spreading to other areas.

• Avoid retinol and facial scrubs for 5days post treatment.

• Avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours

Do not have botulinum toxin treatment if you: are allergic to or have had an allergic reaction to any botulinum toxin products, are allergic to cow’s milk protein, have a skin infection at the planned injection site, under 18 years of age, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Do not have botulinum toxin treatment if you: have swallowing or breathing difficulties or you have muscle or nerve conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease], myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, which may increase the risk of serious side effects including difficulty swallowing and difficulty breathing.

Advise your cosmetic injector of all of your medical conditions, including, if you have surgical changes to your face, very weak muscles in the treatment area, any abnormal facial change, injection site inflammation, droopy eyelids or sagging eyelid folds, deep facial scars, thick oily skin, wrinkles that can’t be smoothed by spreading them apart, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant or breastfeed.

Tell your cosmetic injector about all the medicines you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins and herbal and other natural products. Using botulinum toxin with certain other medicines may cause serious side effects. Do not start any new medicines whilst using botulinum toxin without talking to your doctor first.

Especially tell your cosmetic injector if you: have received any other botulinum toxin product in the last four months or any in the past.

The most common side effects are nose and throat irritation, headache, injection site pain, injection site skin reaction, swelling, eyelid drooping, sinus inflammation, and nausea.

In some cases, the effects of botulinum toxin products may affect areas of the body away from the injection site. Symptoms can happen hours to weeks after injection and may include swallowing and breathing problems, loss of strength and muscle weakness all over the body, double vision, blurred vision and drooping eyelids. Swallowing and breathing problems can be life threatening and there have been reports of death. You are at the highest risk if these problems are pre-existing before injection.

There is no downtime for recovery following anti-wrinkle treatment. It is perfectly normal to return to work or normal activity immediately after treatment. The effects of the treatment can start to be seen in as little as 3 days following treatment and the result shall continue to improve for up to 14days, with the relaxed and refreshed appearance lasting up to four months.

Optimal dosing is paramount to ensure optimal results are achieved with good longevity. Dosing is individualised for each patient in order to achieve the desired effects. Often clients must embark on a ‘journey’, if you come with deep static lines we would not expect to completely rid of these following just one treatment, however it may be that it takes 3-4 treatments over 12-18months. This shall be outlined in the initial consultation with your practitioner.

Following treatment it is recommended to avoid applying pressure/ massaging the areas treated for 48hours. It is also recommended to avoid putting make-up onto injection sites for 6-8hours following treatment.

It is likely that you shall experience minimal to no side effects following treatment, the potential side effects may include redness to the injection or cleansed site, pain, firmness, swelling, small raised bumps, bruising, itching and discolouration.

In most situations these side effects are temporary and will resolve within a week. We ask any client that experiences and is concerned regarding any side effect to contact the clinic immediately so we are able to follow up and ensure maximum safety and satisfaction.

Anti-wrinkle treatments begin to work 2-3 days after the treatment and reach their full effect within 7-14 days.
